Bonn. (bmi) Mit der neuesten Ausgabe von bmi-aktuell (2/2007) nimmt uns das Backmittelinstitut mit auf die Reise an die Atlantik-Küsten Marokkos, Spaniens, Portugals und Frankreichs, an die Küsten von Chile, Indonesien, Südkorea, Japan und Argentinien – dorthin, wo die Rotalgenarten wachsen, aus denen das pflanzliche Verdickungs- und Geliermittel Agar-Agar gewonnen wird.
Weiter geht die Entdeckungstour in das Baltikum; nach Litauen, Lettland und Estland – Länder, in denen Brot einen nahezu heiligen Status genießt und sich die Menschen statt «Guten Appetit!» ein freundliches «Möge dein Brot ausreichen!» wünschen.
