Global Industry: Lantmännen forms new partnership

Bremerhaven. (bm) The state-of-the-art factory that Lantmännen is currently investing in the production of plant-based proteins in Lidköping, Sweden, will cost a good 100 million euros. Construction of the new plant is scheduled for completion in 2027 and forms the basis for a new long-term collaboration between Lantmännen and Ingredion. The US player specializes in ingredients for food and beverages. Ingredion is also working on better access to the European market. The collaboration starts with meeting the European market demand for competitive, sustainably produced and high quality pea protein isolates, as well as various aspects of distribution, product innovation and process improvement. This will give the US-Americans the desired access to the European market, while Lantmännen’s new factory in Lidköping is likely to become a center of excellence for pea protein isolates.
