Global Industry: the future of coffee and chains

Bremerhaven. (bm) When Starbucks announces that it wants to expand its global efforts to save the future of coffee, the Company primarily means saving its own sources of supply. For too long, the Company has simply watched Chinese coffee chains with their enormous hunger for raw materials make the world’s markets unsafe. Luckin Coffee, for example, is cleverly tying Brazil to itself, because with over 20,000 coffee shops at present, the procurement of raw materials has to be cleverly planned. It is therefore no coincidence that the Brazilian ambassador appears at every noteworthy event organized by the coffee giant. The most recent occasion was the «Luckin Coffee Brazil Coffee Culture Festival» to mark the ground-breaking ceremony for the latest innovation and production center. The investment sum is expected to be just under 400 million euros, with a production capacity of 55,000 tons. An indication of where the coffee giant wants to go and that 20,000 shops is by no means the end of the story. Other topics of the week:
