Berlin. (bfr) In den Medien wird über Fälle von Mexikanischer Grippe berichtet, die beim Menschen aufgetreten sind. Die Fälle wurden zunächst aus Mexiko gemeldet, dort kam es in der Folge der Virusinfektion auch zu Todesfällen. Dabei handelt es sich offensichtlich um ein neues Virus des Influenza-Typs A H1N1, das es bisher noch nicht gab. Die genaue Herkunft des Virus ist bislang unbekannt. Es trägt genetische Komponenten von Influenza-Viren, die bislang beim Schwein, bei Vögeln und beim Menschen aufgetreten sind.
