(ora) Der Umsatz für Bio-Lebensmittel in der Tschechischen Republik stieg 2006 um 250 Millionen Tschechischer Kronen (CZK) auf 760 Millionen CZK – umgerechnet 27 Millionen Euro. Dies entspricht einem Wachstum von 49 Prozent, was auf dem ersten Blick richtig beeindrucken kann. Der tschechische Bio-Sektor sei damit in 2006 einer der am schnellsten wachsenden Märkte Europas gewesen, heißt es im Bericht «Czech Organic Food Market 2007», der im Mai durch die Unternehmensberatung Green Marketing veröffentlicht wurde. Importe von Bio-Lebensmitteln hatten einen Anteil von 65 Prozent am Wachstum und von 56 Prozent am Gesamtumsatz. Bio-Lebensmittel machten in 2006 allerdings erst 0,35 Prozent des gesamten Lebensmittelsverzehrs aus. Anders herum: Die Tschechen wandten in 2006 gerade mal 2,65 Euro pro Kopf für Bio-Lebensmittel auf.
